The National Awareness Raising Event in Bulgaria under the "PRO EXTOUR: Promotion of experiential tourism with a focus on the cultural and historical heritage of the Black Sea Basin" project took place with great interest. The meeting, which took place on June 3, 2021, was attended by over 30 representatives of the tourism sector, cultural institutions, experts from District Informational Center-Dobrich, media and other interested parties.
We at Association "Culinary Arts and Hospitality"-Dobrich were the host of the event, and together with the representatives of the team of the leading partner in the project – Varna University of Management (VUM) we presented the international project.
The PRO EXTOUR national awareness raising event kicked off a very intense and meaningful discussion about the future of experiential tourism and the mobilization of cultural and cultural-historical heritage resources in the Black Sea Basin to create unique memories for visitors. The event also served as a kind of forum for the creation of future partnerships between the participating stakeholders, exchange of knowledge and experience.
PRO EXTOUR project is implemented in partnership with 5 organizations from the Black Sea region (Greece, Georgia, Armenia and Bulgaria) leading research institutes and business organizations. Our goal is to promote experiential tourism as a path for sustainable development of the tourism business, by valorizing the potential of local heritage and culture, innovative solutions and cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea Basin. The project is implemented with the support of the Joint Operational Program for Transboundary Cooperation "Black Sea Basin 2014-2020" within the framework of contract No. BSB-1145 and lasts until November 2022.
