Around 10.30am. arrival at Troyan Monastery - the third largest in Bulgaria and one of the most visited monasteries. The monastery was a local center for spiritual enlightenment and literacy. There are several manuscripts from the XVIII-XIX century, composed and copied by local monks. In the middle of the XVIII century at the monastery  there was a school. The troyan monastery is invariably associated with the deacon Ignatius (Vasil Levski). At the beginning of 1872 Vasil Levski founded the monastery secret revolutionary committee, headed by Abbot Archimandrite Macarius. One of the rooms in the northern residential wing is reserved stash of the Apostle and converted into a museum.

To celebrate this popular fruit and fertility, Troyans created a festival that more than two decades creates a unique atmosphere in the city.
